Therapeutic Massage

Yeager Chiropractic and Wellness focuses on specifically designed therapeutic massage and pregnancy massage. We specialize in condition-specific medical massage. Our massages are purposeful to achieve the ultimate goal of maximum health whether it is to restore flexibility, reduce pain and increase range of motion due to an injury or condition or to reduce stress and anxiety.

  • Neuromuscular Therapy (NMT)
NMT is defined as the integrative system of bodywork designed to incorporate neurologic responses with myofascial tissue states; it addresses trigger points, hypertonicity in muscles, and postural compensation patterns to improve range of motion and reduce musculoskeletal pain and to restore balance between the nervous and musculoskeletal systems.
  • Myofascial Release
Myofascial release is a type of treatment for skeletal muscle immobility using sustained pressure to achieve stretching of the fascia. Since this treatment targets the connective tissue, which surrounds and attaches to all structures internally, it is excellent for eliminating pain and restoring motion by relaxing contracted muscles, improving blood and lymphatic circulation, and stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles.
  • Sports Massage
Sports massage is beneficial to recover from injury and for maximum performance whether it is for serious competition or for regular exercise. We utilize multiple techniques for our sports massage from NMT and TPT to deep tissue. Stretching is incorporated into our sports massage.
  • Trigger Point Therapy (TPT)
Trigger Points are hyperirritable spots in tight skeletal muscles that cause pain either locally or in a referred pain pattern. In a trigger point session, these spots will be treated so as to dissipate completely or become significantly reduced. Trigger Point Therapy helps with a number of issues including chronic stress, decreased range of motion, stiffness, headaches, fibromyalgia, and plantar fasciitis.
  • Deep Tissue
Deep tissue treatments are simply focused on specific muscles/muscle groups of the body which may be tense from overuse, repetitive strain injuries, limited range of motion, stiffness, and soreness. Pressure may vary from firm to deep in relation to what the massage therapist determines will achieve maximum results for deeper-lying muscles. This is an ideal treatment for athletes!
  • Swedish
Swedish massage is not too deep or intense and utilizes long gliding strokes and kneading of the muscles to promote relaxation, stress reduction and increase circulation.

Prenatal Massage

Prenatal massage therapy can be an instrumental ingredient in women’s prenatal care. We utilize gentle techniques combined with therapeutic techniques. Massage therapy performed during pregnancy can reduce anxiety and stress, decrease symptoms of depression, relieve muscle and joint pains including back pain, and improve labor outcomes and newborn health. Other potential benefits of massage during pregnancy include hormone regulation, improved circulation, reduced arm and leg edema and swelling, reduced headaches, improved oxygenation of soft tissues and muscles and better sleep.
